Ottawa, ON. - July 22 2008 -- Ottawa-based Elie Daccache of 53-Racing scores professional best at Parts Canada Superbike round at Panoz Mosport Park!
"I came into this weekend hungry from my great finish at Calabogie, my home track" Explains Elie, "I dont have a team or budget to go to Calgary so Mosport was next on my calendar." Elie qualified 11th in the Yoshimura Pro 600 class aboard his ZX6R. "My Ninja ZX6R handled like a dream. I knew I could better my qualifying by a few positions in the race, so I just hoped for good weather!"
Unfortunately good weather was not in the cards. "Saturday's race was unreal. After a red flag, our race was restarted but it had started to rain on the other side of the track! We all went into turn 4 hard on the gas right into a wall of rain right down the hill!! Im glad we all made it through! Thats not something I ever want to experience again!"
In Saturday's restarted Yoshimura Pro 600 Race the EEL finished 9th. "I had a race long battle with Stephane Chabot and Louie Raffa. At times it seemed like they were holding me up so I charged hard through them in corner 2 and 3 and tried to check out from the group but on the last lap I lost the front in corner 3 and Stephane squeezed by me while I was picking the bike up mid corner with my knee."
"Once again I really have to thank Jamie Barkley for the work he does for me. I was able to outpace alot of the privateers behind me with only a pump gas motor!"
"It really wasn’t my plan to do any National races this year," explains Elie, "I wouldn't be here without my the companies that support me, especially the Ottawa Goodtime Centre and MotoVan.
