53-Racing Parts Canada Superbike Championship round 7 report.
Ottawa, ON. - September 8th, 2009 --
Elie 'EEL' Daccache of Ottawa attended the final Parts Canada Superbike Championship round at Shannonville Motorsports Park near Belleville and delighted his supporters with a some aggressive racing and a great 11th place finish!
Elie defied all odds and placed his privateer Kawasaki ZX6R in the mix with other factory supported machinery for a personal and season’s best national finish!
With qualifying on Saturday Elie turned a best time of the day - a 1:07.03. Good enough for a 15 place start in Superbike. He also qualified 14th with a similar time in Sportbike qualifying. "I was doing a race distance test in Sportbike so my sport bike time was not quite as spectacular as my Superbike time, but I was still happy with it! Being in the mix with the Buells, MJB's Honda, and Daigle's Kawasaki was exactly where I wanted to be in qualifying- because I knew I had a lot more for the race!"
"In the Sportbike race I got boxed in pretty good off the start because I was starting on the inside of row 4. I was able to split the group in turn 1 and stuff it into as many people as I could for corner two and motor out of there. The Kawasaki ZX6R really showed its form this weekend. My fastest race lap time was a 1:06.825 and I knew I could still go faster." Elie finished in 11th after qualifying 14th. "It feels good! Racing is so rewarding for me. I build and maintain this bike by hand all season long - all by myself - and I was able to beat factory teams and 'unlimited budget privateers' on race day. I’m stoked!"
Elie comments on Sportbike this year, “The Sportbike field this year has been really tough. I had a few top 10 finishes last year in the 600 class and this year has to have been a little bit discouraging for the privateers out there including myself. I have had to work an extra 100% in my riding and bike prep to finish in the top 20. I’m just really glad things worked out today and don’t feel any compassion for the racers that finished behind me. To compete in the nationals you have to bring your “A” game and play it all weekend.”
In closing Elie says “Thanks go out to Bob and Larry Szoke for some really awesome pictures! Check out

Elie would also like to thank the sponsors that support him - Ottawa Goodtime Centre, Hindle Exhaust, Scorpion Helmets, Kanata Collision, REV’IT, Vortex, and Canadian Kawasaki Racing and Ian and Katherine.
